What Would Julie Do? Live – Sunday 17th September 2017, 8pm
The Pheasantry, Pizza Express
Supporting Carers U.K.
‘What Would Julie Do?’ blogger, Rosie Williamson returns to the Pheasantry for another evening of musical theatre therapy. Joanne McGuinness from the Olivier award winning production of Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour joins Rosie, Dev Joshi and Ciara Power, to perform much loved show tunes, new musical theatre numbers and modern twists on Julie Andrews’ classics.
They will share songs and stories about their favourite things, how to solve problems (like Maria), find the fun (until even the dullest job is a game) and explain how show tunes can help make sense of our crazy lives. It promises to be a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious evening of musical theatre treats.
The theme for the September show is ‘caring and self care’. As well as being an amazingly talented performer, Joanne McGuinness was a full time care for her partner, who lived with cancer for almost 2 years before his passing in May 2015. She has made a series of YouTube videos which share her reflections on her time as a carer. Click here to have a look.
“What Would Julie Do? Live” aims to entertain as well as raise awareness about the importance of good mental health and wellbeing. There will be a retiring collection for Carers U.K. and we will donate any profit from the show to this charity.
